Want to comment? Time's Short

January 16, 2019

There are new proposed Regs for comment out there covering 4 different topics and they are going to start closing in under 2 weeks. Bit of a short schedule I know but they have been hanging for a few days. We had a long discussion about these during the call and we will have an AMIA comment on all of them in the next couple of days. They are posted, in their entirety on the AMIA website. Each of these proposed Regs has a combined document you can open or download. It is listed as a 3 document combined PDF. I combine these to save you time if you just want to "hit and run" the proposals that are of importance to you and skip the rest.

We will get going on position papers, if you have thoughts please feel free to forward them onto me.

I want to remind everyone that we are going to be putting together a trip to meet legislators in DC and if you want to attend we are working on the logistics. We will bring you more after we have gotten it firmed up, but for now my advice is to block the 6th thru the 10th of May out for the trip. I am hoping that we can get all the details worked out pretty quickly so that you will know what associated costs are.

I want to make sure that everyone knows that the illegal / unlicensed / black market is a concern everywhere. When I was in Seattle last weekend at the ATACH National Council of Executive Directors and WRCBA event it was mentioned twice. Everybody realizes that for the legal market to work the way it is supposed to the illegal market is going to have to become nonviable for those who continue to work it. More soon.
